Juanita Anne Larson

Juanita Anne Larson handed away on August 15, 2021. She was born Juanita Anne LaPointe on August 25, 1923, in Butte, Montana, to Violet Elizabeth Smith and O’Brien Michael LaPointe.
Juanita was raised by her grandmother Mary Elizabeth Smith in the course of the Nice Despair in Elkhorn, Montana; Stockton, California; Pollock, Idaho; Spokane, Washington; and Boulder, Montana. Her grandmother had been a solo feminine homesteader close to Radersburg, Montana. Juanita is known as after a beloved instructor within the Toston space.
After highschool in Spokane, Juanita took a job in Boulder, Montana, the place she met her future husband. On Valentine’s Day 1943 in Boulder, she and Jim knocked on the door of the native choose and requested him to marry them as a result of in two days Jim would go away for service within the seventieth Infantry Division throughout World Struggle II.
In 1944 Juanita and Jim had a son, Jimmy, in Helena. When Jimmy was an toddler, Juanita obtained a telegram saying her husband had been severely wounded in motion in France. For weeks, she didn’t know if her husband was alive or lifeless. She lastly obtained a telegram that he was in a navy hospital. His leg was later amputated.
Juanita, Jim, and Jimmy moved to Missoula so Jim may attend regulation faculty on the College of Montana, and so they had daughter Lea in 1950. The household returned to Helena and had sons Gary in 1952 and Neil in 1967.
In 1991, her husband Jim died of issues from pneumonia.
Juanita cherished being within the mountains, and weekends had been typically spent exploring dust roads and having fun with a picnic beside a shady creek-especially within the Elkhorns.
Recognized for her crimson hair, generosity, and humorousness, Juanita was the adored matriarch of a household of 4 kids and their spouses, seven grandchildren and their spouses, and 9 great-grandchildren.
At age 87, Juanita determined to get her first and solely tattoo: a small crimson rose, her husband Jim’s favourite flower, on her wrist.
A beloved fixture of the neighborhood round Helena’s Jefferson Elementary College, Juanita lived within the dwelling she constructed together with her husband in 1954 till she was 97 years outdated.
For the final six months of her life, she resided within the Son Heaven Assisted Residing House in Helena.
Juanita is preceded in demise by her husband, James McLean Larson; her mother and father, Violet Elizabeth Smith and O’Brien Michael LaPointe; and half-sisters Betty McLaughlin and Noma Rowley and half-brother Invoice Harris.
She is survived by her 4 kids, James Larson (Mary) of Manhattan, Montana; Lea Solberg of Helena; Gary Larson (Debbie) of Helena; and Neil Larson (Colleen) of Helena; her seven grandchildren, Jessica Solberg (Gavin Remaley) of Boise, Idaho; Regina Hultin (Chad) of Helena; Eric Larson (Stacey) of Manhattan; Tylor Larson (Jacquie) of Missoula; Corrie Larson of Manhattan; Chad Larson (Delicia) of Helena; and Quinn Larson of Helena; and her 9 great-grandchildren, Nathan and Ava Hultin of Helena; Dani Jo, Bryleigh and Maybelle Larson of Manhattan; Dillon Clifford, Cyla and Driver Larson of Helena; and Alina Larson of Missoula. She can be survived by brother-in-law Wayne Larson of Maryland and several other nieces and nephews.
Juanita shall be buried subsequent to her husband, Jim, on the Boulder Cemetery in Boulder, Montana, overlooking the historic Larson Ranch the place Jim grew up.
