The tattoo artist has been giving tattoos to native girls who’ve been affected by burns and different bodily trauma.
Bodily trauma could be brought on by effectors reminiscent of home violence, automobile accidents, or varied diseases.
Mendes has been providing precedence to the girl affected by such trauma, tattooing visuals reminiscent of butterflies, animals, and flowers over the trauma.
By way of her ‘We Are Diamonds’ challenge, the tattoo artist has helped over 150 girls throughout the Brazilian metropolis obtain tattoos to cowl affected areas.
The challenge affords a no-charge mannequin for these being tattooed. To find girls for tattooing, the challenge asks for these to share their story, photographs of affected areas.
One recipient of the challenge’s providers, Liliana Oliveira, had trauma on her arm coated with art work depicting flower petals.
“It introduced me again to life. I went again to being a lady,” Oliveira advised Reuters.
