- One unusual perk offered by a German hotel chain at work has helped to attract more applicants for jobs.
- Ruby Hotels gives staff up to €500 to get a tattoo, piercing, or haircut after six months, per CNN.
German hotel groups have discovered a novel way to increase their number of job candidates.
Ruby Hotels, which has just over a dozen hotels across Europe, has started offering new hires up to €500, or $511, to pay for the cost of a new tattoo, piercing, or haircut after they complete six months of employment, CNN reports.
Uta Scheurer, Ruby’s vice president for human resources, said that Ruby loves people with personalities and that this is what she wants to communicate. Ruby’s success is based on the mix of characters.
Ruby Hotels saw a 25% increase in the number of job applications since June’s launch. CNN says the offer will remain in effect until the end of this year.
