Rhea Ripley may be in the year 2023. Not only did she win the women’s Royal Rumble match and punched her ticket to WrestleMania 39 to face Charlotte Flair for the “WWE SmackDown” Women’s Championship, but she also continues to be a menace as the “Eradicator” of The Judgment Day, getting in the face of anybody who gets in their way. She’s also found herself in a videogame, “WWE 2K23.”
Speaking to JOY Media’s “Checkpoint” podcast, Ripley praised the game’s realism while continuing to hype up The Judgment Day. Ripley stated that the game “looks exactly like me” and it walks exactly like him. “I’m surrounded by Priest and Finn. Dom has not been added yet but I’m sure people will.
The game’s attention to detail was what caught her eye most. Ripley said, “It’s amazing to see how spot-on it is.” “Even as my tattoos. My tattoos are part of the game.
Ripley stated that 2K “absolutely killed it this year.” Ripley stated, “I think everything’s so spot-on.”
Interestingly, 2K and the promotion have been in hot water for trying to capture the likenesses of WWE stars from the past.
Most recently we can look at the case of Randy Orton, which dates back to when tattoo artist Catherine Anderson filed a lawsuit against WWE, 2K Games, Take-Two Interactive Software, and Yukes in 2018, alleging that multiple works tattooed on Orton between 2003 and 2008 were used in WWE video games without their permission while they were also not compensated for it. Alexander was eventually awarded $3,750. 2K Games and WWE filed an appeal.
